ARTS ON KING BY OUTLAW NEON

“I feel like a little kid, I could just stare at the bright lights forever.” So said Judy Ruzylo, one of the patrons attending the opening show at Arts On King by Outlaw Neon, a group of five artists who do guerrilla neon installations. Used to working outside and without permission, the group has come in from the cold. Seen at the party were, (above, photo 002-001, left to right), architect Maria Missailidis, architect/designer Arriz Hassam and Outlaw Neon member Alfred Engerer.

NAKED LUNCH FIRST ANNIVERSARY PARTY

Naked Lunch, the bar on Queen West, celebrated its first anniversary last week, and showed off its new stage. On hand to break it in was the band Fiberglass Granny, who were delayed because their drummer was down the street at another gig. They finally got it all together and put on a fine pair of sets.  One of the owners (photo 002-004, above) Scott Cramer, kisses his “no-ring wife” manager Yvonne Van Leeuwen. Visiting their friend Scott and taking advantage of the free adult beverages were semi-regulars, (below, photo 002-005, left-right), Anne-Marie Cheung, artist / painter Lisa Couchman and DJ/recording artist DJ Danté – “as I’m known in Toronto.”
