KIM CRASHES TWIST BASH: The Art Gallery of Ontario was the venue of choice for the premiere, pre-release screening of director Ron Mann‘s latest film Twist, a documentary on the dance craze of the ’50s. Prime Minister Kim Campbell , who dropped by for a boo [032-001, l-r], is seen here talking to Ron and apparently giving him some pointers on how to operate a camera – or maybe she has a fishing story? Only Ron knows for sure. Following the film, Kim hit the dance floor (along with a load of security and media) and got in one of her greatest photo ops ever, [031-011 to 031-013] generally disrupting the party. As one observer put it, “What’s with all the political hacks on the dance floor?” Once the PM split, the fun returned for us mere mortals at the reception/party, where we caught up with [032-002, l-r] actor Shona and Doug Slack, the senior producer, on-air promotions man for CITY-TV/MuchMusic. Squeezing in a stogie by the bar were [032-003, l-r] musician Spike of the Royal Crowns, and Nancy, the Squeeze Club manager. In the hall between the galleries were [032-004, l-r] stylist Meileen (of the Plutino Group) and Stacey Gains, makeup artist with MAC cosmetics (“Makeup to the stars, darling!”). And out on the front steps, having a butt and generally avoiding the crushing fury of Kimmania were [032-005, l-r] the film’s co-producer Sue Len Quon and Ron himself. The carousel of outtakes follows. Can you identify anyone?
