HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO COH: Local musical stalwarts Change of Heart celebrated their 11th birthday at the Rivoli on Saturday with a kick-ass live show and karaoke sing-a-long. Among the many friends of the band who showed up to participate were [016-002] Kathryn Rose, Scott B, Anne Bourne, Glenn Milchem and [016-003] Jennie Punter, Meryn Cadell and Molly Johnson. Love that smile, Molly. Getting to the cake after were [016-001, l-r, foreground], COH members Rob Taylor, Ian Blurton, Bernard (“just Bernard”), John Richardson and Mike Armstrong with guest singer Kathryn Rose (Wind May Do Damage) and, holding the cake, Monique Ganon, manager of the Horseshoe.

PEACE & LOVE & RAVE ON TILL DAWN: Take one huge film studio. Add a massive sound and lighting system. Fold in the best DJs and 2,000 sweating, writhing, dance-happy ravers [016-019]. Cook on high till morning and presto… you have the recipe for insto-massive event, Nitrous, the Grand Finale. Among the faithful who-kept the event going was King Svenie [016-020], who designed and made his own gear. Adding some colour to the proceedings were [016-021] rave-gals Nikki, Cecilia and Patti. On hand to get the minions groovin’ was DJ Chris Sheppard [016-022], seen here with fans, sisters Michelle and Andrea. And people said raves were dead! Were you on that dance floor? The carousel of never-before published outtakes follows.

PLAID MADNESS: Forever Plaid, the story of a singing foursome who perish in a car crash but come back, musical influences intact, to do-wop forever, opened at the newly re-opened, newly re-dubbed New Yorker theatre. In the lobby after the final curtain, we find [016-035] the show’s producer, Laurence Follows, being congratulated by his little sister, actress Megan Follows. The opening-night party was a plaid-filled, ‘5Os-themed affair, that found [016-036] audience members Judy Leonard and Sue Graunitz playing hooky from reality while being congratulated by the cast, (L-R) Brian Hill, Paul Castree, John Devorski and Neil Bartram, for their excellent taste.
